Reporting, essays & research
At The Washington Post, I've written a few personal essay columns and policy-focused editorials. I've also freelanced for Teen Vogue, The Tennessean, and more.
At The Vanderbilt Hustler, I covered a school shooting, protests on campus and at the Tennessee legislature, and the pushback to gender-affirming care provision in the South. While at Vanderbilt, I also worked in multiple research labs, authoring two published papers and conducting independent capstone research on global climate migration litigation.
Compliments Immigrants Don't Want to Hear
I served as Assistant Director of the Vanderbilt Research on Conflict and Collective Action (ROCCA) Lab, where I managed admissions and operations for a 50+ person lab. I researched prejudice against refugees globally and the human rights implications of militarized disaster response.
As a research fellow with the Latin American Public Opinion Project, I published data-based analysis of public opinion & tolerance of military coups during public health crises in the Americas.
As a founding student researcher with the Climate, Health and Energy Equity Lab, I worked to design first-of-their-kind carbon offset projects which expand access to affordable housing for Tennesseans facing housing insecurity.
I conducted an independent capstone research project producing a comparative analysis of climate migration litigation in Italy, New Zealand, and Australia.
I assisted Dr. David Hess with research on public opposition to solar and wind energy projects, and state-level preemption laws.
As News Editor, I trained a staff of reporters and managed continuous coverage of campus-related news.
I also served as Editorial Director, where I edited all op-eds and coordinated and wrote staff editorials.
